take a look that is so American - here a pink oxford shirt, madras shorts, moccasins - and make it look better? Saw this guy in front of my apt building the other day. And I know he wasn't American because he was talking to a friend (Italian). The cut of the clothes - not so baggy, the color choices...all subtle but really nice.
Maybe that's one reason why things seem pretty dire in the US right now - a sense of hopelessness and our look got co-opted.
