OMG!!! THESE KIDS @ LOOKBOOK.nu...

are at it 24/7. I can't draw fast enough...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!...

Some random observations for today;

1) I ran into a b soto aka 'Dirty Butt' @ Opening Ceremony ('er, aren't you 'Dirty Butt' - fortunately, it was him)

2) The Asian kids at Uniqlo all look like movie stars or pop stars. And the spring stuff looks bright and happy.

3) I had incredible crispy prawn to celebrate The Year of The Ox.

4) The streets of Chinatown were covered in little bits of paper from cardboard tubes that shoot confetti and little parachute guys.

LANVIN: DEPRESSION 2.0...

What better way to dress for now than to go back to the thirties...these looks remind me of early Jean Gabin films.

Not literally, just the mood.

HEY GlamMAN...

Thanks for the great mention on your blog GlamMAN!

I ADORE NYC - PART GAZILLION...

Sometimes I have to do stuff I really don't want to do (who doesn't. It's called adult), and when I'm on my way to do it I get a visual surprise that I interpret as NYC giving me a kiss and a hug.

That leads me to Justin. This guy looks like a drawing. The fit of the jacket, the cut of the pants and proportion of the shoes were so close to what I want a drawing to look like that I had to stop and get some pictures.

And here's another thing about NYC. Every time I've asked to sketch or take a pic of a person, not only do they oblige but suddenly there is a pose that's Avedon worthy...

Anyway, Justin's a super nice guy and good sport. Works for Z Zegna - give this guy a raise for representing his company so well.

HEATH CALLENDER OF GARDE-ROBE...

Has the look.

I LIKE WHAT D SQUARED DID FOR FALL...

Taking simple things and re-shaping them. Playing with the proportion. Tight top, full bottom. That kind of stuff...

WALTER BRISKI JR CAME OVER TODAY...

and sat for a portrait.

Thanks Walter!

GORGEOUS?

Or what?!

MR PEACOCK AND ME...

I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Mr Peacock. In all the hoopla of the day, I almost forgot to mention it!

Thanks Mr. Peacock for the wonderful article!

NEW SILHOUETTE FOR A NEW ERA?

Prada thinks so. Broad shoulder, lower double breasted.

I gotta adjust my eye to this...

GUCCI TRIES SOME COLOR...

I mean, it's a nice break from gray.

NEW ARRIVALS...

The country, with all it's problems, already feels like a different place. Lighter, happier, filled with hope.

BOTTEGA VENETA...

Can not miss with a grey sweater and pale blue shirt peaking out.

MORE FALL 2009

Jil Sander.

Based on what I've seen from the collections, it looks like there was a new August Sander book released.

I mean, that's not necessarily a bad thing...

FALL 2009...

Burberry.

BRRRR...

NYC is in deep freeze mode. Hard to capture people on the street because the few brave souls out are running.

As for me - a coughing, wheezing, sinus kind of thing going on.

But the blogs must go on...Here's me.

GUILD INVITE...

Guild, a menswear trade show, commissioned me to illustrate their invite, site and blog for their show next month (this will be cut into a 4 page invite).

Liiiiiive, from Las Vegas...

LOTS OF PATTERNS...

and a puppy.

CANADIENNE...

I saw this coat this morning, and it got me looking through my favorite archives.

I love this picture of Jean-Paul Sartre. The caption is 'JPS en canadienne, photographie par Henri Cartier-Bresson, vers 1945.'

And that got me to looking at all the great winter stuff I think needs to be reworked and back in the market. Like this version of a Clarke boot (only not in seal skin), or that amazing coat in the upper right.

Or a new version of this vintage piece. HELLO Designers!

and these groovy boots.

I mean, I'd buy this stuff if I could find it!
